Merchandising Section:
This is the section where all of the sections in textile for this reason, we should have proper knowledge about the working steps of merchandising in garments. The merchandising process mainly starts after receiving an order sheet from the buyer and continues up to shipment. In this article, I am trying to discuss a knit garment order and briefly express the different steps of merchandising work and their process.
Working Steps of Merchandising Section:
The top 5 working steps of the merchandising department in apparel are given below-
First Step:
Get the “order sheet” and “lab dip” (swatch or pantone no) by email or take it hand to hand from buying house to the merchandiser. For further information about this order, keep 5 copies for own, cutting, sewing, and sample room.

Lap-dip
Second Step:
Then lab dip (swatch or pantone no) will send knitting & dyeing. Dyeing swatch or pantone no will give from dyeing. Lap dip is an important task in merchandising department in garments.
Third Step:
Lab dip (dyeing swatch or pantone no) and lap dip sample added lap dip book then will send buying house, and if those are approved is OK, so will order knitting & dyeing for production program. Keep these swatch 3 pieces, 1 piece for own and send 2 pieces for buying house. (Approved)

Pantone
Fourth Step:
Then make a “style sample” (only one size), “photo sample” (for advertising), site set sample (all size) 4 pieces by following the order sheet, an approved lab dip (dyeing swatch) and send it buying house. 2 pieces for buying house, 1 piece own and 1 piece sample room. After buying the house, check the sample and modify send the measurement sheet and accessories items. That measurement sheet will copy 2 pieces for 1 piece own and 1 pieces sample room.

Garments Accessories
Fifth Step:
Then make P.P sample (pre-production) for buying houses 5 pieces only for 3 pieces buying house and 2 pieces for own following the measurement sheet. If this P.P sample is OK, so buying house said you will go to bulk production, making any garments as per order.
