At the dawn of one thing, another begins. College life is usually fantastic for most students. They find their meaning in life, their interests, the pathways to their careers, as well as make friends for life and even get a partner they can settle down with.
But, there are many things a fresh grad has to do to get their life started. You may be taking on an internship, starting a job, or applying in several companies, and dressing right is essential to succeed. Like most college graduates, you might not have the budget to afford a line of wardrobe right away, which is why here is a list of the essentials.
Suits:
The most essential outfit every college grad needs to have in their closet is at least two decent suits. Suits are necessary for various occasions. It could be for a job interview, an event, a dinner with your partner’s parents, or something to wear at the office, among other reasons.
You need to get a suit that has two or three buttons, notch lapels, and one or two vents. Having a two-piece would be more preferable than a three-piece. While thinking about the colors, it might be best to stick to a classic black and a navy blue. Try to steer clear of patterns and shiny suits.
Shirts:
When thinking about tops, you will need about three dress shirts to get started. These should match the colors of your suits, while also complimenting your skin color. If you have trouble deciding different colors, then don’t worry. Pick out an everyday white, plain black, and another light hue of your choice. But make sure they are all solid colors.
You might already have many t-shirts from the college years, but it might be best to buy a couple of fresh ones. Start with two regular crew-neck t-shirts, in the color of your choice. Also, pick out two or three polos that fit just right.
Accessories:
Accessories are essential to complete every outfit. You should have a couple of nice ties in the closet to go with suits. You could even wear a tie with a trouser and dress shirt.
Other than that, you will also need to have one or two belts. The key to buying a belt is getting something that can go with every outfit. But it’s impossible to find a belt for both casual and formal wear. That is why you may need two.
Finally, don’t leave your wrist empty. You should consider buying a classy watch that has an analog dial with either stainless steel or a leather strap.
Bottoms:
To complete a look, you may need two or three pairs of trousers. You can choose various colors, but make sure it has a formal or at least semi-formal look to it. It would be best to get these tailor-made to fit your body type. But if it is out of your budget, buy pants in a slim fit rather than a regular fit.
